Andy Williams

Andy Williams was an American singer and television host, best known for his hit songs “Moon River”, “Can't Take My Eyes Off You”, and “Love Story”. He was born in Wall Lake, Iowa, in 1927, and began performing with his three older brothers at the age of 8. His career began in earnest when he signed with Cadence Records in 1953, and his first album, The Andy Williams Show, was released in 1954.

Throughout his career, Williams released numerous albums, including Moon River and Other Great Movie Themes (1962), The Wonderful World of Andy Williams (1965), Love, Andy (1968), and You've Got a Friend (1971). His most successful album was Moon River, which featured his signature song “Moon River”, as well as “Days of Wine and Roses” and “Charade”. His other well-known songs include “Can't Take My Eyes Off You”, “Love Story”, “Butterfly”, and “May Each Day”.

In addition to his music career, Williams hosted The Andy Williams Show from 1962 to 1971. He was also a regular performer at the Moon River Theatre in Branson, Missouri, for many years.

An interesting fact about Andy Williams is that he was the first person to perform at the White House Easter Egg Roll, which he did in 1962.
