C.W. McCall

C.W. McCall (born William Dale Fries, Jr.) was an American country and folk singer-songwriter, best known for his 1975 trucker-themed song "Convoy". He was a successful country music artist in the 1970s and 80s, and had a top-10 hit with "Convoy" that inspired the 1978 movie of the same name.

McCall's first album, C.W. McCall's Greatest Hits, was released in 1975 and contained "Convoy" as well as his other hit song "Wolf Creek Pass". His second album, Black Bear Road, released in 1976, contained the songs "Old Home Filler-Up an' Keep On A-Truckin' Café", "Classified", and "There Won't Be No Country Music (There Won't Be No Rock & Roll)".

McCall released his third album, Wolf Creek Pass, in 1977, which contained the song "Wolf Creek Pass" as well as other hits like "The White Knight", "Mama Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys", and "I've Seen the Light".

An interesting fact about C.W. McCall is that he was not only a singer and songwriter, but he was also an actor and voice artist. He appeared in the 1978 movie Convoy, and provided the voice of the narrator on the TV show The Muppet Show in 1979.
