Collegium Aureum Vinyl Records

Collegium Aureum is an instrumental ensemble founded in 1967 by a group of German musicians, including musicologist Reinhard Goebel. It is considered one of the most influential early music ensembles of the 20th century, and has played a key role in the revival of Baroque music.

The group has released over 100 albums, many of which have become classics of the genre. Notable albums include their Grammy-winning recording of Bach's Brandenburg Concertos, their critically acclaimed recording of Handel's Messiah, and their numerous recordings of works by Vivaldi, Telemann, and Purcell.

Among their standout songs are Telemann's Concerto for Four Violins, Vivaldi's Concerto in A Minor, and J.S. Bach's Suite in B Minor.

An interesting fact about Collegium Aureum is that the ensemble was the first to perform the Brandenburg Concertos without modern instruments, using instead instruments from the Baroque period. This recording was so influential that it is now considered to be the benchmark for all subsequent performances of the work.
