English Chamber Orchestra Vinyl Records

The English Chamber Orchestra (ECO) is one of the most distinguished chamber orchestras in the world. Founded in 1948 by conductor Benjamin Britten and violist Peter Pears, the orchestra has achieved a long and distinguished history.

The ECO has released numerous acclaimed albums over the years, including their 1981 recording of the Brandenburg Concertos, which is one of their most popular releases. Other standout albums include their 1976 recording of Bach's Violin Concertos, their 1998 recording of Schubert's Symphony No. 8, and their 2005 recording of Corelli's Concerti Grossi, Op. 6.

The ECO has also released several recordings of popular pieces, such as their 1994 album of music by the Beatles and their 2002 recording of music from the films of Alfred Hitchcock.

An interesting fact about the English Chamber Orchestra is that they have performed with numerous prominent soloists over the years, including violinist Yehudi Menuhin, pianist Martha Argerich, and cellist Mstislav Rostropovich.
