Family Vinyl Records

Family was an English rock band, formed in Leicester in 1966 by John "Charlie" Whitney and Roger Chapman. The group's line-up changed frequently over the years, but the core members were Whitney (guitar and vocals), Chapman (vocals and guitar), Jim King (saxophone, flute and vocals), Rob Townsend (drums and percussion), John "Poli" Palmer (keyboards, vibraphone, flute, backing vocals and percussion) and John "Rabbit" Bundrick (keyboards).

Family's most successful album was their 1971 release Fearless, which reached number two in the UK Albums Chart and spawned the hit single "Burlesque". The band also had a string of successful albums in the early 1970s, including Bandstand (1972) and It's Only a Movie (1973). Other notable albums from Family's catalog include Music in a Doll's House (1968), A Song for Me (1969), Old Songs, New Songs (1971) and Fearless (1971).

Some of Family's standout songs include "My Friend the Sun", "Burlesque", "Second Generation Woman", "Strange Band" and "No Mule's Fool".

An interesting fact about Family is that the band's sound was heavily influenced by the work of British psychedelic and progressive rock bands of the late 1960s and early 1970s.
