Heaven is a British heavy metal band that was formed in 1979 by vocalist and guitarist Alan Marsh, guitarist Barry Dunnery, bassist David Langston, and drummer Frank Noon. The band released their debut album, Where Angels Fear to Tread, in 1985, which was met with critical acclaim. The album spawned the single "Tear Down the Walls," which reached the UK Top 40 and earned the band a slot on the Monsters of Rock tour.

Heaven's sophomore album, Waiting for the Kill, was released in 1987 and featured the single "Avalon," which was a Top 40 hit in the UK. The band's third album, Wings of Steel, was released in 1989 and featured the hit single "Light in the Dark." The album also spawned the single "No Angel," which earned the band a Grammy nomination.
