Hector Berlioz Vinyl Records

Hector Berlioz (1803-1869) was a French Romantic composer, best known for his orchestral works such as Symphonie fantastique and Grande messe des morts. His works combined elements of symphony, opera, and the concerto, and often featured daring harmonic progressions, colorful orchestrations, and complex forms. Berlioz was a major influence on later composers such as Wagner and Mahler. Berlioz's most famous works include the Symphonie fantastique, the opera Les Troyens, the Requiem, and the Te Deum. He also wrote a number of shorter pieces, including the overture Le Corsaire and the song "Le spectre de la rose." An interesting fact about Berlioz is that he was a music critic for much of his life, writing for the Parisian press. This allowed him to write about his own music and to promote it to a wider audience. He was also a talented visual artist, producing a number of sketches and drawings which he used to illustrate his music.
