Henryk Szeryng Vinyl Records
Henryk Szeryng (1918-1988) was a Polish-born classical violinist who is considered one of the greatest violinists of the twentieth century. He began playing the violin at the age of six and studied at the Paris Conservatoire. He was best known for his interpretations of Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Debussy, and other classical composers. Szeryng was a prolific recording artist, releasing more than 100 albums throughout his career. His standout albums include his self-titled album Henryk Szeryng (1972), Tchaikovsky: Violin Concerto in D Major (1962), and Vivaldi: The Four Seasons (1960). One of his most popular songs is the traditional Polish folk song "Krakowiak," which was recorded in 1968 and was featured in the movie Schindler's List. An interesting fact about Szeryng is that he was the first classical violinist to give a recital at the White House, performing for President Lyndon B. Johnson in 1966.
