Lula Côrtes Vinyl Records

Lula Côrtes was a Brazilian singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and composer. She is most famous for her work in the progressive rock group Os Mutantes, which she co-founded in 1968. She was a pioneering force in the Tropicalia movement, which combined elements of rock, funk, and traditional Brazilian styles like samba and bossa nova. Lula Côrtes released several solo albums, beginning with 1975's Paêbirú, which featured several songs co-written with fellow Os Mutantes member Rita Lee. Her second solo album, Lula Côrtes e Zé Ramalho, was released in 1976 and featured a variety of styles, from traditional samba to psychedelic rock. Her third solo album, Satwa, was released in 1977 and is often considered her masterpiece. It featured a blend of acoustic and electronic instruments, including her own homemade synthesizers, and is considered one of the most important albums in the history of Brazilian music. Lula Côrtes' most famous songs include “Paêbirú”, “Azul da Cor do Mar”, “Rosa de Hiroshima”, and “Coração Selvagem”. An interesting fact about Lula Côrtes is that she was a self-taught musician and technician, and she built her own synthesizers and other electronic instruments.
