Melvins Vinyl Records

Melvins are an American rock band formed in 1983 in Montesano, Washington. The band is composed of founding members Buzz Osborne (vocals, guitar), and Dale Crover (drums), as well as longtime bassist Jared Warren and guitarist/keyboardist Trevor Dunn.

The band's earliest releases were on the C/Z Records label, owned by Tacoma, Washington's Dionysus Records, which also distributed early Sub Pop releases. Since then they have released their music through many different labels, including Amphetamine Reptile Records, Atlantic Records, Ipecac Recordings, and most recently, Joyful Noise Recordings.

The Melvins' music is a combination of metal, punk, and alternative rock, featuring a mixture of loud, distorted guitars, solid bass lines, and powerful drums. The band's live shows often feature absurdly long, drawn-out versions of their songs, and often include covers of classic rock and blues songs.

The band's most popular and critically acclaimed albums are Houdini (1993) and Stoner Witch (1994). Standout songs from these albums include "Honey Bucket", "Hooch", and "Revolve".

An interesting fact about Melvins is that they have released an album with both Nirvana's Kurt Cobain and Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl. The album, entitled "The Jihad EP" was released in 1993, and features Cobain and Grohl as guest musicians.
