Mondo Rock is an Australian rock band that formed in 1978 in Melbourne. The original lineup was composed of Ross Wilson (vocals, guitar), Eric McCusker (guitar), James Black (keyboards), Paul Christie (bass), and Keith Coyne (drums).

The band's first two albums, Primal Park and Chemistry, were released in 1981 and 1982, respectively. Both albums contained the hit singles "State of the Heart" and "Cool World".

The band's most successful album was 1986's The Modern Bop, which featured the hit singles "Come Said the Boy" and "No Time". The band released four more albums between 1986 and 1995, including the live album Second Best (1989), and the band's last album, Nu-Folklore (1995).

The band has been credited with helping to establish the popularity of Australian pub rock in the 1980s.

An interesting fact about Mondo Rock is that the band's single "Come Said the Boy" was the first song ever to be played on MTV Australia when it launched in 1987.
