Narciso Yepes

Narciso Yepes (1927-1997) was a Spanish classical guitarist who is widely considered one of the greatest of all time. He was a virtuoso performer and a great innovator, and his repertoire was heavily based on the works of Spanish composers such as Joaquín Rodrigo and Manuel de Falla.

Yepes is perhaps best known for his recording of Rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez, which he recorded with the Orquesta Nacional de España under the direction of Ataúlfo Argenta. He also made recordings of works by Granados, Falla, Albéniz, and many others.

Some of Yepes' standout albums include The Art of the Spanish Guitar (1972), Concierto de Aranjuez (1975), and Music of the Spanish Masters (1978). He also made several recordings of traditional Spanish folk songs and popular melodies.

An interesting fact about Narciso Yepes is that he was the first classical guitarist to use an electric guitar, which he did in the recording of Rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez. He also used a combination of acoustic and electric guitars to create unique sounds.
