Peter Skellern Vinyl Records

Peter Skellern (1947-2017) was an English singer-songwriter, pianist, and composer. He had a string of successful singles in the 1970s and 1980s, including "You're a Lady" (1972), "Hold On To Love" (1979), and "Star" (1983). He was also well known for his vocal performances of television and film theme songs, including "Love Is the Sweetest Thing" (theme to the BBC series Lovejoy) and "When a Man Loves a Woman" (theme to the film Local Hero).

Skellern's standout albums include his debut, Astaire (1972), Hard Times (1974), and Eyes of Blue (1979). He released two Christmas albums, Christmas is All Around (1985) and An Olde English Christmas (1994). His biggest hit was "You're a Lady", which peaked at number five in the UK Singles Chart. Other popular songs include "Tears In The Morning", "Softly Whispering I Love You", "Hold On To Love" and "The Touch of Your Lips".

An interesting fact about Peter Skellern is that he was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 2001 for his services to music.
