Snow's debut album, Phoebe Snow, was released in 1974 and featured the single "Poetry Man". The song became a top five hit in the US, making Snow a household name. She followed up with the 1975 album Second Childhood, which featured the single "Gone at Last". Both albums were certified gold.

Snow's third album, It Looks Like Snow, was released in 1976 and featured the singles "Every Night" and "Either or Both". In 1978, Snow released the album Against the Grain, which featured the single "Mercy". She released her final album, Something Real, in 1982.

An interesting fact about Snow is that she was an advocate for breastfeeding. She was featured in a national campaign for the United States Breastfeeding Committee in 1982.
