Poison is an American glam metal band formed in 1983 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Originally consisting of Bret Michaels (lead vocals, guitar), Bobby Dall (bass), Rikki Rockett (drums), and C.C. DeVille (guitar), the band rose to fame in the late 1980s with their multi-platinum album Look What the Cat Dragged In, which spawned the hit singles "Talk Dirty to Me", "I Want Action", and "Nothin' But a Good Time".

The band's next two albums, Open Up and Say...Ahh! (1988) and Flesh & Blood (1990) both achieved multi-platinum status and spawned several hit singles, including "Unskinny Bop", "Something to Believe In", and "Every Rose Has Its Thorn". Poison's fourth album, Native Tongue (1993), was less successful but still achieved gold status.

Poison's most successful album is the multi-platinum Power to the People (2000), which spawned the hit singles "Ride the Wind", "Squeeze Box", and "Stand". The band's latest album, Poison'd! (2007), is a collection of covers of classic rock songs.

An interesting fact about Poison is that their original guitarist, C.C. DeVille, is the son of legendary rock guitarist, Bill "The Ox" Anderson.
