Shawn Phillips (born February 3, 1943) is an American folk-rock singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Phillips began his career in folk music in the early 1960s, playing coffeehouses and clubs in Texas, Oklahoma, and California. He signed with A&M Records in 1968, and released a number of critically acclaimed albums in the 1970s.

Phillips's most popular albums include Second Contribution (1970), Faces (1972), and Bright White (1973). His songs "You Don't Know How Lucky You Are," "She Was Waitin' for Her Mother at the Station in Torino," and "Lost Horizon" were all chart successes. Phillips also composed the soundtrack for the 1975 film Lost Horizon.

An interesting fact about Shawn Phillips is that he is considered to be one of the first singer-songwriters to combine elements of jazz, classical, and rock music into his own unique style. He is also an accomplished classical guitarist and has been praised by some of the greatest guitarists of all time, including Andrés Segovia and Eric Clapton.
