Showaddywaddy is a British rock and roll band formed in Leicester, England in 1973. The band consists of original members, including lead singer Dave Bartram, guitarist Romeo Challenger, drummer Billy Anthony, and bassist Al James. The band rose to prominence during the mid-1970s, when they had a string of successful singles and albums.
The band's debut album, "Trocadero", was released in 1974 and featured their first hit single, "Hey Rock and Roll". The album went to number 2 in the UK Albums Chart and was certified platinum. Other standout albums include "Step Two" (1975), "Red Star" (1976), "Trophies" (1977), and "Greatest Hits" (1979).
Showaddywaddy's biggest hit single was "Under the Moon of Love", which reached number 1 in the UK Singles Chart in 1976. Other popular songs include "Three Steps to Heaven" (1975), "You Got What It Takes" (1975), "Dancin' Party" (1976), "When" (1977), and "I Wonder Why" (1978).
An interesting fact about Showaddywaddy is that they performed at the original Live Aid concert in 1985. The band has also been inducted into the Leicester Walk of Fame.
