Solomon

Solomon is a British rock band formed in London in 1971 by singer-songwriter Chris de Burgh. They are best known for their hit single "Lady in Red" which became a huge international success in 1986.

Their debut album, Far Beyond These Castle Walls, was released in 1975 and featured the hit single "Spanish Train". This was followed by Crusader (1976), Man on the Line (1978), Eastern Wind (1980), and The Getaway (1982).

Their most successful album was Into the Light (1986), which spawned the hit single "Lady in Red" and reached No. 1 in the UK Albums Chart. The album also featured the singles "Missing You", "Don't Pay the Ferryman" and "High On Emotion".

Other notable albums include Spark to a Flame (1989), Power of Ten (1992) and Timing Is Everything (2000).

Some of their other popular songs include "The Lady in Red", "Missing You", "Don't Pay the Ferryman", "High on Emotion", "The Snows of New York", "A Spaceman Came Travelling", "Ship to Shore", "The Tower", and "Borderline".

An interesting fact about Solomon is that their 1986 single "Lady in Red" was written about de Burgh's wife Diane. It was a huge international success, reaching the top 10 in multiple countries and selling over 5 million copies worldwide.
