Spacemen 3

Spacemen 3 were an English alternative rock band formed in Rugby, Warwickshire in 1982. The band was formed by Peter Kember and Jason Pierce, who both sang and played guitar. They were joined by bassist Will Carruthers and drummer Pete Bain. They were known for their unique, drone-based sound, heavily influenced by 1960s psychedelia and post-punk.

Spacemen 3 released their debut album, Sound of Confusion, in 1986. It was followed by the album Playing with Fire in 1987, which featured the single "Walkin' with Jesus". The band's third album, The Perfect Prescription, was released in 1987 and featured the single "Take Me to the Other Side". The album was considered by some to be their most successful.

The band's final album, Recurring, was released in 1991. The album featured the singles "Feel So Good" and "Hypnotized". After the release of Recurring, the band broke up in 1991.

An interesting fact about Spacemen 3 is that they were one of the few bands to have ever been signed to both Matador Records and Creation Records.

The band's music has been cited as an influence by many contemporary bands, including My Bloody Valentine, Primal Scream, Radiohead and Spiritualized.
