The Grass Roots

The Grass Roots is an American rock band that formed in 1965 in Los Angeles, California. The original lineup consisted of Rob Grill, Warren Entner, Rick Coonce, and Kenny Fukomoto. After several lineup changes, the group eventually included Grill, Entner, Creed Bratton, and Rick Coonce.

The Grass Roots achieved success in 1967 with their song "Let's Live for Today," which peaked at number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100. Other hits from the band include "Midnight Confessions," "Sooner or Later," "Temptation Eyes," and "Two Divided by Love."

The Grass Roots released 11 studio albums during their career, including their most successful album, Golden Grass, which peaked at number 37 on the Billboard 200 and was certified Gold by the RIAA. Other standout albums from the band include Where Were You When I Needed You, Feelings, and their self-titled debut album.

An interesting fact about The Grass Roots is that their song "Live for Today" was featured in the 2006 video game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories, as well as in the 2008 film Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
