The Sports are an Australian rock band, formed in Melbourne in 1977. The band consists of Stephen Cummings (vocals), Andrew Pendlebury (guitar), Martin Armiger (guitar), Robert Glover (bass) and Paul Hitchins (drums).

The Sports' first album, Don't Throw Stones, was released in 1978 and was met with critical acclaim. The album featured their hit single "Who Listens to the Radio?", which became an Australian number-one hit. The band's follow-up album, Sondra, was released in 1979 and featured the single "Strangers on a Train", which also became an Australian number-one hit.

The Sports released their third album, Reckless, in 1981. The album featured the single "Don't Fight It", which peaked at number two on the Australian charts. The band released a fourth album, Play, in 1983, which featured the single "All I Wanna Do Is Dream".

The Sports' fifth album, Bop Til You Drop, was released in 1984. The album featured the singles "Living in the Eighties" and "It's a Lottery". The band released their final album, Endless Sleep, in 1988.

The Sports' biggest hit single was "Who Listens to the Radio?", which was released in 1978 and reached number one on the Australian charts. The band's most successful album was Reckless, which reached number seven on the Australian charts.

An interesting fact about the Sports is that they have never broken up, even though the band members have gone on to pursue other projects. The band still performs occasionally and released a compilation album, The Best of The Sports, in 2002.
