"Qui Sème le Vent Récolte le Tempo" is the first studio album by MC Solaar. The French rapper of Senegalese and Chadian origin is France's most famous and influential hip-hop artist. The debut album was originally released on October 15, 1991 and is now considered a milestone of French hip-hop.
The title is a play on words with the French version of the biblical proverb "qui sème le vent récolte la tempête ("he who sows the wind will reap the storm," Hosea 8:7).
The song "Bouge de là" was the first single from the album, which was very successful in France and launched Solaar's career there. The song is based on a sample of "The Message" by the English band Cymande from the 1970s. Other popular singles include "Caroline" and "Victime de la mode." The title track, "Qui Sème le Vent Récolte le Tempo," is based on Lou Donaldson's "One Cylinder."
