Cypress Hill

Cypress Hill is an American hip hop group from South Gate, California. It was formed in 1988 by Latino American rappers Sen Dog and Mellow Man Ace, along with Cuban American DJ Muggs and American producer Lou Dog. The group was one of the first to embrace Latin hip-hop and has since become one of the most influential and successful Latin rap groups of all time.

Cypress Hill's first two albums, Cypress Hill (1991) and Black Sunday (1993), were both certified double platinum by the RIAA. The group’s most popular songs include "Insane in the Brain", "Rock Superstar", "Dr. Greenthumb", and "How I Could Just Kill a Man".

The group has been nominated for four Grammy Awards and won two in the Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group category in 1993 and 1995.

An interesting fact about Cypress Hill is that they were the first Latino hip-hop group to have a gold album, and the first to have a platinum album.
