The Eagles are an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1971 by Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Bernie Leadon and Randy Meisner. The Eagles have sold over 150 million albums worldwide and are one of the best-selling bands of all time.

The Eagles' standout albums include their debut album, 1972's Eagles, as well as the follow-up, Desperado (1973), which featured the hit single "Tequila Sunrise". 1975's One of These Nights spawned the chart-topping single "One of These Nights", while 1977's Hotel California featured the hit title track, "New Kid in Town" and "Life in the Fast Lane". The group's greatest hits album, Their Greatest Hits (1971-1975), released in 1976, is one of the best-selling albums of all time and has sold over 29 million copies in the US alone.

The Eagles have had a number of memorable hit singles, including "Take It Easy", "Peaceful Easy Feeling", "Lyin' Eyes", "Take It to the Limit", "The Long Run", "Heartache Tonight", and "Get Over It".

An interesting fact about the Eagles is that their song "Hotel California" was used in a scene in the hit film The Big Lebowski.
