Fine Young Cannibals
Fine Young Cannibals were an English rock band formed in Birmingham in 1984. The band originally consisted of bassist and vocalist David Steele, guitarist Andy Cox and vocalist Roland Gift. Their self-titled debut album was released in 1985, and it spawned the hit singles "Johnny Come Home" and "Suspicious Minds".
The band's second album, The Raw & The Cooked (1988), was their most successful album, reaching number one on the UK Albums Chart and number 16 on the US Billboard 200. The album spawned the hit singles "She Drives Me Crazy" and "Good Thing", the latter of which won a Grammy Award for Best Performance by a Duo or Group in 1989.
The band's third album, Bronze (1989), was not as successful as their previous albums, but still featured the hit singles "Don't Look Back" and "I'm Not Satisfied". Their fourth album, The Finest (1995), was their final studio album, and featured the single "The Flame".
An interesting fact about Fine Young Cannibals is that they were the only group in the 1980s to have their first three singles reach the top five in the UK Singles Chart.
