Françoise Hardy
Françoise Hardy is a French singer, songwriter, actress, and author. Born in Paris in 1944, she began her singing career in the early 1960s and rose to prominence in the French music scene. She is known for her distinctively husky voice and her signature style of folk-inspired pop.
Hardy's most popular albums include 1962's Tous Les Garçons et Les Filles, 1965's Mon Amie La Rose, and 1971's La Question. She has released over 40 studio albums and her songs have been covered by a variety of artists, including The Turtles, The Kinks, and Cat Power.
Among her most popular songs are "Tous Les Garçons et Les Filles", "Comment Te Dire Adieu?", and "Le Temps de l'Amour".
An interesting fact about Françoise Hardy is that she was an early proponent of the French New Wave cinema movement, appearing in the films La Collectionneuse (1967) and La Chambre Verte (1978). She also wrote and sang the theme song for the 1967 film Un Homme et Une Femme (A Man and a Woman).
