Free Improvisation

Free Improvisation is a form of music that is characterized by its lack of pre-determined structure or form. It is a spontaneous, often chaotic form of music making that is based around improvisation and exploration of sound. Free Improvisation has its roots in jazz and avant-garde music of the 1960s and 70s, with some of its key figures being jazz musicians like Ornette Coleman, John Coltrane, and Cecil Taylor.
