Harry Nilsson (1941–1994) was an American singer-songwriter and musician. He is best remembered for his popular songs such as "Everybody's Talkin'," "One," "Without You," and "Coconut," as well as his wide range of styles from rock and pop to jazz and blues. Nilsson's career spanned five decades, during which time he released 22 albums and had a number of singles that charted in the US and UK.

Nilsson's breakthrough came in 1967 with his debut album, Pandemonium Shadow Show, which included the hit single "Everybody's Talkin'." The album established his unique musical style of combining classic pop with elements of rock and jazz. His follow-up album, Aerial Ballet (1968), included the song "One," which became a Top 10 hit in both the US and UK. Other standout albums include Nilsson Schmilsson (1971) and Son of Schmilsson (1972). Both albums featured the hit single "Without You," which has since been covered by a number of artists, including Mariah Carey and Badfinger.

Nilsson's final album, A Little Touch of Schmilsson in the Night (1973), was a collection of jazz standards. He also wrote and produced the musical comedy The Point! (1971), which featured the single "Me and My Arrow."

An interesting fact about Nilsson is that he was an early adopter of the synthesizer and was one of the first musicians to use a synthesizer on a pop record. He famously used the ARP 2600 on his 1971 album Nilsson Schmilsson, which featured the single "Coconut."
