Huey Lewis & The News released their debut album, Picture This, in 1982, and it was an immediate success, achieving double-platinum status in the United States. The album featured the hit single, "Do You Believe in Love," which peaked at number 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Their second album, Sports, was released in 1983 and was even more successful than the first, selling over 10 million copies in the United States and producing three Top 10 singles: "The Heart of Rock & Roll," "I Want a New Drug," and "If This Is It."

In 1985, the band released their third album, Fore!, which was also a hit. It featured the singles "The Power of Love" and "Stuck with You," both of which reached the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The album was certified quadruple platinum in the US.

Their fourth album, Small World, was released in 1988 and featured the hit single, "Perfect World," which peaked at number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The album was certified double-platinum in the US.

The band's most recent studio album, Weather, was released in 2020.
