Kim Carnes is an American singer-songwriter who has been active since the mid-1970s. She is best known for her 1981 hit song "Bette Davis Eyes", which was a number-one hit on the Billboard Hot 100 for nine weeks.

Carnes began her music career in the late 1960s as part of the folk-pop group The New Christy Minstrels. She released her first solo album, Rest on Me, in 1972. She achieved her breakthrough success in 1981 with the album Mistaken Identity and the single "Bette Davis Eyes", which won her a Grammy Award for Song of the Year. She followed up this success with the album Voyeur in 1982, which included the top-five single "Draw of the Cards".

Carnes's other notable albums include Café Racers (1983), Barking at Airplanes (1985), View from the House (1989), and Chasin' Wild Trains (1996).

Some of her other popular songs include "More Love" (1980), "Voyeur" (1982), "Don't Fall in Love with a Dreamer" (1980), and "Crazy in the Night (Barking at Airplanes)" (1985).

An interesting fact about Kim Carnes is that she collaborated with Kenny Rogers on the single "Don't Fall in Love with a Dreamer" in 1980. The song was a top-five hit in the US and Canada and was featured on Rogers's album, Kenny.
