Manfred Mann's Earth Band Vinyl Records
Manfred Mann's Earth Band is a British rock band formed in 1971 by South African musician Manfred Mann. The band's sound is a fusion of progressive rock, jazz-rock, and art-rock. They are best known for their hit single, "Blinded by the Light", which was a cover of Bruce Springsteen's song.
The band's first two albums, Manfred Mann's Earth Band (1972) and Solar Fire (1973), featured a progressive rock sound with complex arrangements, intricate instrumentation, and vocal harmonies. These albums featured some of the band's best-known songs, such as "Spirits in the Night", "Living Without You", and "Joybringer".
In the mid-1970s, the band shifted to a more mainstream pop-rock sound, with their album The Roaring Silence (1976) being their most successful. This album featured the hit singles "Blinded by the Light" and "Davy's on the Road Again", both of which charted in the US and UK.
The band's later albums continued to explore a variety of musical styles, including new wave ("Chance"), synthpop ("Mighty Quinn"), and reggae ("Demolition Man").
An interesting fact about Manfred Mann's Earth Band is that they were the first band to record an album of Bob Dylan covers, which was released in 1973. This album, entitled The Best of Bob Dylan, was a commercial success and spawned the hit single "The Mighty Quinn".
