Missing Persons is an American new wave band that formed in Los Angeles, California in 1980. The original members of the band were Dale Bozzio (lead vocals), Warren Cuccurullo (guitar and vocals), Terry Bozzio (drums and vocals), and Patrick O'Hearn (bass and vocals).
The band's first album, Spring Session M, was released in 1982 and spawned the hits "Words" and "Destination Unknown." The album peaked at #52 on the US Billboard 200 chart and was certified Gold by the RIAA.
The band's second album, Rhyme & Reason, was released in 1984 and featured the hits "Walking in L.A." and "Windows." The album peaked at #29 on the US Billboard 200 chart and was certified Platinum by the RIAA.
The band's third album, Color in Your Life, was released in 1986 and featured the hit "Something in the Air." The album peaked at #86 on the US Billboard 200 chart.
The band's biggest hit single, "Mental Hopscotch," was released in 1984 and peaked at #14 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.
An interesting fact about Missing Persons is that their song "Words" was featured in the movie Valley Girl (1983).
