Oscar Peterson
Oscar Peterson (1925-2007) was a Canadian jazz pianist, composer, and educator. He was born in Montreal, Quebec and began playing piano as a child. Peterson became one of the most renowned jazz pianists of all time and was highly respected by his peers.
Some of Peterson's standout albums include The Trio (1952), Night Train (1962), and We Get Request (1964). His hit songs include “Hymn to Freedom”, “The Good Life”, “C Jam Blues”, “Gone With the Wind”, and “The Touch of Your Lips”.
An interesting fact about Peterson is that he was the first jazz musician to be featured on the cover of Time magazine in 1957.
