  • Paolo Nutini: "Caustic Love" - the extremely talented singer/songwriter with a new album!

Meanwhile five years have passed since his last great album "Sunny Side Up" (#15 in Germany). So it's high time for a new record and so Paolo Nutini, one of the greatest singer/songwriter talents, returns with his brand new album "Caustic Love".

The new longplayer shows the exceptional talent of the Scot and his almost unbelievable vocal power, which goes far beyond the normal maturity of a 27-year-old! "Caustic Love" aims directly at the heart and shines with essential soul feeling and soul composed to the point, as the first single "Scream (Funk My Life Up)" proves beyond doubt.

The album was produced by Paolo Nutini himself and Dani Castelar. It consists exclusively of Paolo Nutini's own compositions. The recordings were made in Valencia, London, Glasgow and in the USA.

Paolo Nutini has always released very surprising material and "Caustic Love" is definitely no exception.

Nutini's career began in 2006, when he suddenly appeared on the musical scene out of nowhere and immediately sold 1.5 million copies of his debut album "These Streets" in the UK alone. Three years later he surprised with his outstanding album "Sunny Side Up". He was nominated for a Brit Award, won an Ivor Novello Award and was considered the best selling UK artist in 2009 and 2010.

Now, five years later, Paolo Nutini is celebrating his return with his grandiose third album "Caustic Love", an album full of grooves and musical highlights as dark as they are stormy, proving once again that Paolo Nutini is one of the most important British songwriters and performers of the present day.

An excellent record that is fun and enjoyable to listen to - be sure to listen!

    Reviews

"Paolo Nutini is a Retromaniac, hopelessly caught between past and present, idolatry and his own aspirations. But in this in-between world he sings like a young god." [Rolling Stone, April 2014]

"How Nutini empathises with the soul of the mid 60s to early 70s, from Sam Cooke to Marvin Gaye, on "Caustic Love": this is technically flawless and at the same time creative to the point: the arrangements are perfect in form with gnarled winds, steel Stratocaster touch and fat organ; the tart, sweet and honeyed singing is wonderful; the compositions are good to splendid (...)" (Audio, June 2014)

"After a five-year hiatus, the Scottish new soul singer presents an outstanding comeback album." [music express, june 2014]
