Rocksteady

Rocksteady is a genre of Jamaican popular music that originated in the late 1960s. It is a slower and more relaxed style of Reggae music, characterized by its mellow, easy-going sound. Rocksteady music was popular in Jamaica during the late 1960s and early 1970s and was a precursor to the faster-paced Reggae music that emerged in the mid-1970s. It was also popular in the United Kingdom, where it was played by British DJs in the late 1960s and early 1970s. The main instrumentation of Rocksteady music is guitar, bass, drums, and horns. Its most influential artists include Alton Ellis, The Paragons, The Heptones, and The Melodians.
