Roger Miller
Roger Miller was an American singer, songwriter and musician, born in Fort Worth, Texas in 1936. He was best known for his comedic lyrics, as well as his distinctive twangy singing style. Miller had a career that spanned five decades, during which time he wrote and recorded dozens of albums and singles.
Miller's most successful albums were his self-titled debut (1966), The Return of Roger Miller (1966) and Golden Hits (1968). His most successful songs include "King of the Road", "Dang Me", "Chug-a-Lug", and "England Swings".
In 1964, Miller won nine Grammy Awards, a record for a single year. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1995.
An interesting fact about Roger Miller is that he wrote the theme song for the 1965 Disney film, "The Ugly Bug Ball".
