Ronnie Burns (1937–2007) was an Australian pop singer who achieved national fame in the 1960s and 1970s. Born in Sydney, he began his career as a solo artist in 1959 with the single "Smokey Joe's Café". He had a successful run of hits throughout the '60s, including "Sweet and Tender Romance" (1959), "Fever" (1960) and "I Took a Trip on a Gemini Spacecraft" (1966). He was also known for his duets with his then-wife Colleen Hewett, such as "Mr. Music Man" (1967) and "You and Me Against the World" (1970).

Burns had two standout albums in his career, the self-titled Ronnie Burns (1965) and A Little Bit of Ronnie (1969). The albums featured classic covers of "Fever", "Mr. Music Man" and "Smokey Joe's Café", as well as original compositions such as "A Little Bit of Ronnie". His most successful single was "You and Me Against the World", which reached number one on the Australian charts in 1970.

An interesting fact about Ronnie Burns is that he was the first artist to have an Australian single certified gold. "You and Me Against the World" was certified gold in 1971, and remains one of the most successful Australian singles of all time.
