Sherbet Vinyl Records

Sherbet is an Australian rock band formed in Sydney in 1969. The original members were Daryl Braithwaite (vocals), Tony Mitchell (bass), Alan Sandow (keyboards), Clive Shakespeare (guitar), Garth Porter (keyboards) and Denis Loughman (drums). The band achieved mainstream success in the 1970s with hit singles such as “Howzat”, “Summer Love”, and “Slipstream”.

Sherbet’s debut album, Time Change...A Natural Progression, was released in 1971 and featured their first major hit single, “Time Change”. The band’s follow-up album, Sherbet, released in 1972, included the singles “Howzat” and “Slipstream”. The album peaked at #3 on the Australian Albums Chart and was certified double platinum.

Sherbet’s most successful album, Howzat!, was released in 1976 and featured the singles “Summer Love” and “Child’s Play”. The album peaked at #1 on the Australian Albums Chart and was certified triple platinum.

Sherbet’s other notable albums include Life (1977), Highrise (1978) and The Best of Sherbet (1979).

An interesting fact about Sherbet is that the band was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 1999.
