Sonic Youth Vinyl Records

Sonic Youth is an American alternative rock band from New York City that formed in 1981. The band is composed of founding members Thurston Moore (vocals, guitar), Kim Gordon (vocals, bass, guitar) and Lee Ranaldo (vocals, guitar), as well as Steve Shelley (drums) and Mark Ibold (bass). Sonic Youth is known for its experimental music and its influence on the independent music scene of the 1980s and 90s.

The band's most successful and critically acclaimed albums include 1988's Daydream Nation, 1992's Dirty and 1995's Washing Machine. Notable singles from the band include "Teen Age Riot," "Kool Thing," and "Bull in the Heather."

An interesting fact about Sonic Youth is that the band's first album, Confusion Is Sex, was released on their own record label, Neutral Records. This marked the beginning of the band's own record label, which eventually spawned the careers of bands such as Nirvana and Pavement.
