The Future Sound of London (also known as FSOL) is a British electronic music duo composed of Garry Cobain and Brian Dougans. Formed in 1988, they are one of the pioneers of electronic music and have released a number of influential albums, EPs and singles over the years.
Some of their most acclaimed albums include Lifeforms (1994), Dead Cities (1996) and ISDN (1998). Lifeforms, in particular, is often cited as one of the most important electronic albums of all time, featuring such classic tracks as "Cascade," "Lifeforms," and "Domino."
Other standout albums include The Isness (2002), Environments (2007) and Accelerator (2011). They have also released a number of EPs and singles over the years, including "Papua New Guinea" (1991), "My Kingdom" (1995), and "We Have Explosive" (1997).
An interesting fact about The Future Sound of London is that they were one of the first electronic artists to incorporate field recordings into their music. They were also among the first electronic musicians to incorporate live musicians into their live performances.
