The Velvet Underground Vinyl Records

The Velvet Underground was an American rock band formed in New York City in 1964. The band was co-founded by singer/guitarist Lou Reed and multi-instrumentalist John Cale. Other members included guitarist Sterling Morrison, drummer Maureen Tucker, and bassist Doug Yule.

The Velvet Underground are widely considered one of the most influential bands in rock music, as their experimental and avant-garde sound was a major influence on punk rock and alternative rock. Some of their standout albums include their 1967 debut The Velvet Underground & Nico, 1969's The Velvet Underground, and 1970's Loaded. Notable songs include "Heroin," "Sunday Morning," and "I'm Waiting for the Man."

An interesting fact about The Velvet Underground is that they only released four studio albums during their time together, but their influence has endured long after the band's breakup. They are widely credited as one of the most important bands in the history of rock music.
