Yoko Ono is a Japanese multimedia artist, singer, songwriter, and peace activist who is best known for her relationship with John Lennon. She was born in Tokyo, Japan, in 1933 and studied at Gakushuin University before moving to New York City in 1953.

Ono's career as a musician began in 1968 with her experimental avant-garde album Yoko Ono/Plastic Ono Band. This album is considered one of her standout works, featuring songs such as "Why" and "Greenfield Morning I Pushed an Empty Baby Carriage All Over the City." Ono released her second album, Fly, in 1971, which featured the iconic single "Don't Worry Kyoko (Mummy's Only Looking for Her Hand in the Snow)." She has released several other albums throughout her career, including Approximately Infinite Universe (1973), Season of Glass (1981), and Starpeace (1985).

Ono is also known for her activism, especially her work in promoting world peace. She and Lennon created the legendary "Bed-Ins for Peace" protests in 1969, and Ono has since continued to promote peace through her art and music. In 2009, she was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for her efforts.

An interesting fact about Yoko Ono is that she is a vocal advocate for the LGBTQ+ community and has spoken out in favor of marriage equality. In 2019, she received an honorary degree from the San Francisco Art Institute in recognition of her activism.
