Zydeco

Zydeco is a musical style of African-American music, rooted in the French-speaking African-American culture of Louisiana. It originated in the early 20th century, combining elements of French Creole, Cajun, blues, and R&B. Characterized by its syncopated rhythms, distinctive instrumentation, and call-and-response vocals, it has become popular with both Creole and Cajun audiences. Zydeco is often associated with Louisiana's Mardi Gras celebrations and the music of the southern United States. It has gained national and international recognition, with its influence extending far beyond the southern states.
