Drubich Anna – Forbidden Fruits (Pink & Red Splatter Vinyl)

Anna Drubich's Forbidden Fruits is the original motion picture score for Meredith Alloway's occult-horror film, a darkly comic story set around a secretive witchy cult hidden beneath a mall store. Drubich, known for work including Barbarian and Fear Street: 1994 and for collaborating with Marco Beltrami on Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, shapes the music around tension, atmosphere and emotional restraint rather than easy shock effects.

The score moves between sparse piano motifs and swelling orchestration, mirroring the film's shifting emotional terrain while keeping a strong sense of intimacy. What stands out is its patient construction: textures evolve gradually, unease builds without overstatement, and the album holds together as a carefully paced listen away from the screen. Tracks such as "The Mall," "Confession" and "Snake In The Garden" suggest how closely the music follows the story's eerie, surreal mood.
