The Spinners switched to the Atlantic label when Motown was still dominating soul. But Aretha Franklin, who had made her breakthrough herself with the New Yorkers, made the decisive recommendation. Spinners was the first album on Atlantic - and is still a soul classic to this day. Possibly not the band's most successful release, but their best. Together with producer Thom Bell, the musicians delivered timeless hits like I'll Be Around and Could It Be I'm Falling in Love, thus laying the foundation for an extremely successful collaboration that made The Spinners stars.The remastering of the 180g vinyl LP from Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab was done by Krieg Wunderlich.
