Afro-Cuban Jazz
Afro-Cuban jazz is a musical style that combines elements of jazz and traditional African and Cuban musical styles. It originated in the 1940s when African-American musicians in New York City started to experiment with Latin American and Cuban rhythms and instruments. Since then, Afro-Cuban jazz has evolved to incorporate a wide range of instruments and rhythms from around the world, including African and Latin American percussion, horns, and other instruments. The style has had a strong influence on many other genres of music, from funk and salsa to jazz fusion and hip-hop. Notable musicians in the style include Tito Puente, Dizzy Gillespie, and Arturo Sandoval.
