Afro-Cuban
Afro-Cuban music is a blend of African and Cuban musical styles, developed by the African slaves who were brought to Cuba. It combines African percussion and melodies with European harmonies and instrumentation, giving it a unique and distinct sound. Its history dates back to the 16th century, when the Spanish colonizers brought African slaves to Cuba. As the slaves began to mix their own musical traditions with those of their new home, a distinctive sound began to emerge. Over time, this sound has evolved into the modern Afro-Cuban style, which incorporates elements from jazz, salsa, rumba, and other Latin American styles.
