Anton Bruckner, Münchner Philharmoniker, Sergiu Celibidache – Symphony No. 4 (2xLP)

Sergiu Celibidache was without question one of the most important and original conductors of the recent past. He was a perfectionist who disliked the synthetic sounds of the modern recording studio and preferred the immediacy of the concert platform and interaction with the live audience. This Bruckner recording pays tribute to the extraordinary legacy of his collaboration with the Munich Philharmonic, of which he was musical director from 1979 until his death in 1996.
