After releasing her second album, Inner Song, in the midst of the pandemic, Kelly Lee Owens suddenly found that her world tour could no longer take place. Not wanting to let this creative energy go to waste, she spontaneously decided to go to Oslo instead
There was no overarching plan, it was simply a change of scenery and a chance for uninterrupted studio work. As luck would have it, their flight from London was the last one before the borders closed again. The "Blank Pages" project was underway. Arriving in blowing snow and sub-zero temperatures, she began spending time in the studio with Lasse Marhaug. Marhaug, an esteemed avant-garde noise artist, had a vision of making music loosely based on Throbbing Gristle
Kelly, on the other hand, intended to create something inspired by Enya, an artist who had a lasting influence on her creative nature. They met halfway and combined hard, industrial sounds with ethereal, Celtic mysticism, creating music that swings back and forth between tension and relaxation. A month later, Kelly called her label to tell them she had created a sort of runaway, her "eighth album."
