André Previn Vinyl Records

André Previn (1929-2019) was a German-born American composer, arranger, and conductor who was active in many musical genres, including jazz, classical, pop, film music, and Broadway. He was the recipient of multiple Grammy Awards, and was nominated for 11 Academy Awards and won four. He was also a pianist, and performed with many of the greatest musicians of his time.

Some of Previn's most popular albums include Previn at the Piano (1959), My Fair Lady (1960), Porgy and Bess (1959), and André Previn and His Pals (1963). He also wrote music for a number of films, including Gigi (1958) and Irma La Douce (1963).

One of Previn's standout songs is "Like Young," which he co-wrote with lyricist Paul Francis Webster and was featured in the 1959 film Porgy and Bess. He also composed the theme song for the television show Dallas.

An interesting fact about Previn is that he was the first conductor of the London Symphony Orchestra to conduct with his back to the audience. This was done to allow him to better focus on the orchestra and ensure their performance was up to his standards.
